Lasonte M. Ruthertold, 30, of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin.

A Lake County sheriff’s deputy was treated at a hospital for injuries she suffered attempting to break up a fight between two women at a bar in Beach Park.

Lasonte M. Ruthertold, 30, of the 6700 block of Main Street in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, was charged with resisting arrest causing injury and battery.

Lake County sheriff’s deputies were conducting patrol around 2 a.m. February 8 at Addison and Clarks, 37895 North Sheridan Road in Beach Park.

The deputies observed a female, later identified Ruthertold, punching another woman inside of a vehicle in the bar’s parking lot, Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said.

The two sheriff’s deputies intervened and separated Ruthertold from the victim, a 31-year-old Schiller Park woman. One of the deputies was speaking to the victim while the other was speaking to Ruthertold.

The situation had calmed down when Ruthertold said “I’m going to beat your a**” and charged at the victim, Covelli said. The sheriff’s deputy who was speaking with Ruthertold brought the woman to the ground to prevent her from attacking the victim.

This caused the deputy to injure her knee during the arrest, however, the deputy still managed to place Ruthertold into handcuffs, Covelli said.

The deputy was treated at a hospital and released. She has since recovered and is now back to work, Covelli said.
