Henry K. Hashemi, 18, of Buffalo Grove.

An 18-year-old Buffalo Grove man was arrested after police found a “small amount” of marijuana and money during a search warrant last week.

Henry K. Hashemi, 18, of the 1500 block of Anderson Lane in Buffalo Grove, was charged with manufacturing and delivering cannabis, possession of cannabis manufacturing equipment and possession of a fraudulent driver’s license.

Police began an investigation into Hashemi’s residence after receiving numerous calls for service, anonymous complaints and undercover surveillance.

The search warrant was obtained after evidence was presented to a Lake County judge. The Buffalo Grove Police Department conducted the warrant on Thursday at Hashemi’s residence on Anderson Lane.

Buffalo Grove Deputy Police Chief Michael Szos said in a statement that police recovered “small amounts” of cannabis and a “large sum” of money. Court records show officers recovered 10-30 grams of cannabis and $1,490 in cash.

Hashemi was the only person in the residence at the time of the search warrant. He was taken into custody without incident andย released from the Lake County Jail after posting 10 percent of his $20,000 bond.

“Without the eyes and ears of our residents we would otherwise be unable to conduct these types of investigations,” Buffalo Grove Police Chief Steven Casstevens said.

“Once armed with information, our officers conducted a thorough investigation which ultimately results in a safer neighborhood for our community,” Casstevens added.
