A man, who is believed to be a missing person, was found dead in a vehicle parked at a Lake in the Hills gas station Thursday afternoon, police said.
The Algonquin Police Department responded around 2:11 p.m. Thursday to Speedway gas station, 2700 West Algonquin Road.
Police discovered a deceased man inside of a vehicle that was parked near the Speedway.
“The discovery of the deceased male was the result of officers assisting in the search for a missing person from a nearby community,” Algonquin Deputy Police Chief Ryan Markham said.
Markham told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that the body is believed to be a missing person but they are awaiting the McHenry County Coroner’s Office to provide a positive identification.
An investigation into the man’s death continues and foul play is not suspected.
The name of the man is being withheld pending positive identification and notification to the family, Markham said.
