A 95-year-old man believed to have left home on foot in unincorporated McHenry has been missing for over a day now, sheriff’s officials said.

Stanley E. Szczesny, 95, was last seen in the 2500 block of Scheid Lane in unincorporated McHenry early Friday morning around 3:30 a.m.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said that a neighbor checked on Szczesny around 3:30 a.m. Friday and when the neighbor went to check on him again at around 8 p.m., he was no longer at the home.

Szczesny is described as a male white, 5-foot-5 and 125 pounds. He speaks English and Polish and was last seen wearing blue jeans. His other clothing description is unknown.

McHenry County Sheriff Sgt. Aimee Knop said that the sheriff’s office believes that Szczesnyleft on foot but it is unknown where he may have gone.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Silver Alert for Szczesny. Anyone with information or who may have seen the man is encouraged to call 911 or the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office at 815-338-2144.
