Ashley M. Michaels, 34, of McHenry.

A McHenry woman, who was armed with an 8-inch carving fork, allegedly told a McHenry County sheriff’s deputy, “Are you ready to lose an eye?” according to court documents.

Ashley M. Michaels, 34, of the 900 block of South Black Partridge Road in unincorporated McHenry, was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 10:15 a.m. February 20 to the 900 block of South Black Partridge Road in unincorporated McHenry for a well-being check.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Sandra Rogers told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that deputies made contact with Michaels and she brandished a carving fork.

A criminal complaint alleges that Michaels refused to drop the 8-inch, 2 prong carving fork after being told multiple times to drop it.

While Michaels and the sheriff’s deputy were approximately five feet away from each other, Michaels stated, “Are you ready to lose an eye?” court documents allege.

Rogers said that sheriff’s deputies deployed a taser and took Michaels, who continued to resist arrest, into custody.

She was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation and a warrant was obtained for her arrest, Rogers said.
