Police are asking for the community’s assistance in locating a man who broke a window to a Lake Forest home and attempted to gain entry Thursday afternoon.

The Lake Forest Police Department said that a resident on Wedgewood Drive reported that a male black, approximately 6-foot tall, walked around the back of their home and broke a window in an attempt to gain entry.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Thursday and the person left the area in a gray sedan.

“We are looking for help from anyone who may have witnessed this or who might have video doorbell or security camera footage of this person and vehicle,” the Lake Forest Police Department said on social media.

Police are specifically asking residents who live on Wedgewood Drive, Wedgewood Court, Devonshire Lane, Stratford Court, Parliament Court, and Wimbledon Court to review their camera footage.
