High winds caused a semi-truck to roll over Monday afternoon in Woodstock, officials said.

The Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded around 4 p.m. Monday to Route 14 and Lake Shore Drive for a single-vehicle crash.

Police said that a semi-truck was traveling eastbound on Route 14. The truck attempted to turn left onto northbound Lake Shore Drive when it rolled over.

Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Captain Brendan Parker said that the driver was evaluated at the scene by paramedics and he declined transport to the hospital.

There was a minor fluid leak from the engine of the truck due to it being on its side but fire crews were able to quickly contain it, Parker said.

The road was blocked for approximately an hour and a half while two heavy wreckers were called to upright the truck and tow it.
