A Huntley man has been charged with breaking into and burglarizing several vehicles in his own neighborhood, police said.

Alexander V. Manov, 18, of the 10300 block of Brighton Lane in Huntley, was charged with three counts of burglary from motor vehicle, a Class 2 felony.

The Huntley Police Department responded to the 9900 block of Bedford Drive and the 9800 block of Bennington Drive for a report of several vehicles broken into early Tuesday morning.

Huntley Deputy Police Chief Michael Klunk said that several vehicles had been tampered with or entered during the early morning hours. Officers were able to identify the suspect as Manov and some proceeds from the burglaries were recovered.

Klunk said that a BB gun and a watch were among the items stolen and recovered along with several low value items.

Court records show Manov was previously charged in March by Huntley police with criminal trespass to vehicle, burglary, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a stolen vehicle. He was sentenced to probation, required to pay court fees and credited with time served in jail.

Manov remains held on the new charges in the McHenry County Jail on a $70,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 6.
