Detectives are investigating after three teens came across a body in ‘advanced stages of decomposition’ in a field in unincorporated Wauconda Friday afternoon.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded around 4 p.m. Friday to the 25200 block of West Old Rand Road in unincorporated Wauconda for a report of a found body call.

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that deputies arrived and learned that three teens came across the body while collecting firewood.

Deputies were led to the body, which was in an open area. The body was in advanced stages of decomposition, Covelli said.

Authorities do not know the age of the person or the gender of them, Covelli said, adding that there were no obvious signs of foul play.

Investigators said they are confident the body is not missing Waukegan-based attorney Barry Boches based on a surgery that Boches had.
