An arrest warrant has been issued for a Wauconda man after video captured him ramming his pickup truck into a Lake County sheriff squad car in Ingleside.
Adrian N. Tostado, 28, of the 1300 block of Route 12 in Wauconda, is wanted for aggravated fleeing to elude, criminal damage to state supported property and criminal trespass to residence.
Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that Tostado was wanted for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house on March 9.
Sheriff’s deputies received information on April 9 that Tostado may have been in the area of the 34600 block of North Gerberding Avenue in Ingleside around 6:30 p.m.
Covelli said that deputies began searching for him and located Tostado in his 1996 Dodge pickup truck. The man saw the squad car pull up and he maneuvered around it by reversing down the street.
Another sheriff’s squad car turned down the street and activated its emergency lights. Tostado continued driving in reverse down the street towards the sheriff’s squad car until he struck it.
None of the sheriff’s deputies involved were injured but the squad car that was struck suffered damage, Covelli said.
The man fled the area and his vehicle was later recovered and impounded in the 1600 block of North Callahan Road in Wauconda.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Tostado is asked to email Lake County Sheriff Detective Kevin Tietz at [email protected].
