Patrick N. Ulm, 19, of West Dundee, and Daniel R. Sievers, 20, of Crystal Lake.

Two men have been arrested after they allegedly used a replica gun to rob a man of marijuana and THC cartridges in Crystal Lake, police said.

Patrick N. Ulm, 19, of the 200 block of First Street in West Dundee, was charged with aggravated robbery and theft, while his accomplice, Daniel R. Sievers, 20, of the 3600 block of Tamarisk Court in Crystal Lake, was charged with theft.

Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Thomas Kotlowski said that the incident was brought to the attention of officers during a separate investigation.

Officers learned that on either March 27 or March 28, two offenders met with the victim in the 200 block of Terra Cotta Avenue around 7 p.m.

During the meeting, the offenders robbed the victim of marijuana and THC cartridges, which had a total value of less than $500, according to Kotlowski and a criminal complaint filed in court.

A handgun, which turned out to be a replica pellet gun, was used during the robbery, Kotlowski said.

Officers investigated and positively identified the offenders as Ulm and Sievers. Arrest warrants were issued for both of the suspects.

Sievers was arrested on April 29 and released from custody after posting 10 percent of his $1,000 bond. Ulm was arrested on Thursday and remains held in the McHenry County Jail on a $70,000 bond.
