A stolen car crashed into a Beach Park home, trapping two people in the car and leaving three injured early Thursday morning.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Beach Park Fire Department responded around 2:50 a.m. Thursday to the 37600 block of North Sheridan Road in Beach Park for a report of a car that struck a residence.

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that deputies arrived and found a vehicle and a home with major damage.

A preliminary investigation shows a 2008 Chevrolet Impala was occupied by three males — an 18-year-old of Zion, a 16-year old of Zion, and a 14-year-old of Beach Park.

The vehicle was traveling southbound on Sheridan Road when the driver lost control for an unknown reason and struck the front of a home, Covelli said.

Nobody inside the house was injured. One of the three occupants was able to escape from the vehicle, while two others remained trapped and required extrication by the fire department.
