Police are searching for a gunman who shot a man and woman inside a home in Zion early Saturday, officials said.
The Zion Fire Rescue Department and Zion Police Department responded around 12:22 a.m. Saturday to the 1500 block of Anderson Trail for a report of a shooting.
Zion Police Chief Kirk Henderson said that officers arrived and found two gunshot victims.
A 41-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were identified as the victims. They both sustained gunshot wounds to their legs.
The two were reportedly inside the home when a gunman fired several shots from outside the residence.
Paramedics transported the man and woman to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Henderson told Lake and McHenry County Scanner.
Both victims are from Zion. No suspects are in custody yet and Henderson said he could not release any additional information on the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Zion Police Department at 847-872-8000 or Lake County Crime Stoppers at 847-662-2222.
