A man and woman from Arizona were both charged after they traveled to Richmond and allegedly sexually abused a child.
Rhiannon S. Kennedy, 18, and Mark A. Fields, 23, both of Tuscon, Arizona, were arrested on June 7 by the Richmond Police Department.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County court alleges that Fields and Kennedy both traveled to Illinois to meet a female juvenile after they communicated with her over the internet.
Fields allegedly sexually penetrated the girl, who is between 13-15 years old, and Kennedy penetrated the girl with her fingers, the complaint says.
Fields was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, indecent solicitation of a child, indecent solicitation of an adult, solicitation to meet a child and traveling to meet a minor.
Kennedy was charged with traveling to meet a minor and criminal sexual abuse.
Fields remains held in the McHenry County Jail on a $150,000 bond and Kennedy remains held on a $50,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in court on June 17.
