A woman who was the property manager of a homeowner’s association in Fox Lake has been charged with stealing and laundering over $1 million, police said.

Michele L. Kirk, 50, of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, was charged with two counts of theft as a Class X felony and three counts of money laundering, a Class 1 felony.

The Fox Lake Police Department launched an investigation on October 28, 2019 into Kirk, who was employed as the property manager of Vacation Village Homeowner’s Association.

She is alleged to have exerted unauthorized control and laundering in excess of $1 million in funds that belonged to the association.
