A 39-year-old man was injured after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail Saturday evening in Port Barrington.

The Wauconda Fire District and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 8:11 p.m. Saturday to the 600 block of Rawson Bridge Road in Port Barrington for a single-vehicle crash.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Sandra Rogers said that a 2011 Yamaha Stryker motorcycle was traveling westbound on Rawson Bridge Road.

The driver, a 39-year-old Chicago man, failed to navigate the curve near the Broken Oar Bar and Grill and crashed into the guardrail.

Paramedics transported the man to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington with non-life-threatening injuries.

Rogers said that drugs and alcohol are not considered to be a factor in the crash. It is unknown if speed was a factor.

The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
