Update: The Woodstock Police Department says the boy has been located safe.
Police officers and a canine unit are searching for an 11-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Woodstock Friday evening.
The Woodstock Police Department said that Josiah Murphy, 11, left his home in the 1400 block of Oakleaf Lane.
Police said that the boy left the residence after an argument with his parents around 5:30 p.m. Friday. It is near the intersection of McConnell Road and Zimmerman Road.
He is 5-foot-6, 175 pounds, and was last seen wearing black sweat pants, white long sleeve shirt with a dark green hood, and possibly did not have shoes on.
The Woodstock Police Department said they are conducting an extensive ground search of the area for Josiah.
They are also following up on possible locations where he could be. The ground search will be utilizing a police canine unit.
Anyone who has information or knows his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
