Firefighters had to extricate a man after he lost control of his semi-truck and rolled it over on Interstate 94 near Wadsworth Thursday afternoon.
The Newport Fire Protection District and Illinois State Police received a call around 2:59 p.m. Thursday of a single-vehicle crash on eastbound I-94 at milepost 1.
Illinois State Police Trooper Omoayena Williams said that the driver of a semi-truck was attempting to exit at Route 41.
The driver veered from the left lane to the right lanes to continue traveling eastbound on Interstate 94, Williams said.
The man lost control of the semi-truck and it overturned onto its side, trapping him in the cab.
Firefighters arrived from multiple fire departments to assist with freeing the driver from the truck.
Paramedics transported him to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with non-life-threatening injuries.
Heavy-duty tow trucks were called to the scene to upright the truck and tow it. State police did not say if any citations were issued.
