Health officials said they have identified a COVID-19 outbreak at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Crystal Lake which has left several customers and staff members infected.

The McHenry County Department of Health announced Wednesday afternoon that Texas Roadhouse, located at 835 Cog Circle in Crystal Lake, voluntarily closed due to the virus.

Lindsey Salvatelli, the Community Information Coordinator for the McHenry County Department of Health, told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that there have been “multiple” confirmed cases associated with the restaurant.

The exact number of cases was not released but Salvatelli confirmed that both staff and customers have been infected.

The investigation into the outbreak and contact tracing is ongoing.

Anyone who has worked at or visited the restaurant between July 19 and August 4 and has any COVID-19 like symptoms is encouraged to consult with their primary care physician and get tested.
