A Round Lake woman was arrested after refusing to wear a face mask inside the Mundelein Target, causing a disturbance, and then battering a customer who tried to intervene.

Jessica B. Majkowski, 37, of the 1-99 block of East Willow Drive in Round Lake, was charged with battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting or obstructing a police officer.

The Mundelein Police Department responded around 6:16 p.m. July 30 to the Target, 3100 West Route 60, for a report of a customer refusing to wear a face mask.

Officers arrived and learned that Majkowski entered the store without a face covering and became irate when confronted by store employees.

Police said that employees told the woman about the store’s policy and she began yelling and refused to leave the store.

Another customer attempted to intervene and was battered by Majkowski, police said.
