Police have confirmed that the two 16-year-olds, one a McHenry resident and the other a Wisconsin resident, who went missing together have been found safe in Georgia.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Lake and McHenry County Scanner Wednesday morning that Alexander Rogers, 16, of McHenry, and Katherine Heimann, 16, of Gratiot, Wisconsin, had been located safe.
The Lafayette County, Wisconsin Sheriff’s Department said on Friday they were seeking assistance from the public in locating Katherine, who went missing early Friday morning.
Authorities said that Alexander left his residence in McHenry and went to Katherine’s residence south of Gratiot to pick her up at approximately 2:30-2:45 a.m. Friday.
Alexander was driving his black 2000 Ford Ranger with Illinois registration 1522910, the sheriff’s department said.
The sheriff’s office did not know where the two were traveling.
Sheriff’s officials said there was no reason to believe Katherine went against her will; however, she did not appear to take any personal belongings with her, including her cell phone.
