A 40-year-old Woodstock man was killed Friday evening after being ejected from his motorcycle during a crash near Woodstock.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Woodstock Fire Rescue District responded around 7:09 p.m. Friday to the 13000 block of Pleasant Valley Road in unincorporated Woodstock for a vehicle crash with injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies found a 40-year-old Woodstock man who suffered serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said that the man was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Pleasant Valley Road.

For unknown reasons, the Harley Davidson exited the road to the north and struck a utility pole.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the motorcycle, was ejected and killed. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The McHenry County Conservation Police also assisted at the scene. The McHenry County Coroner’s Office is scheduling an autopsy on the man, whose identity remains withheld.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while deputies investigated the crash.

The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
