A man was seriously injured when a truck pulled out in front of his motorcycle and struck it, causing him to become pinned underneath the truck in Antioch over the weekend.

The Antioch Fire Department and Antioch Police Department responded around 3:42 p.m. Saturday to the area of Route 83 north of Beach Grove Road for a two-vehicle crash.

Antioch Police Department Sgt. Charles Smith said that a 48-year-old Antioch man was traveling on his motorcycle southbound on Route 83.

A truck pulling a trailer, driven by a 69-year-old Antioch man, turned into the motorcycle’s lane of traffic and struck the motorcycle.

The 48-year-old man riding the motorcycle was pinned under the trailer of the truck.

The driver of the truck helped jack the trailer up and off the injured motorcyclist before emergency crews arrived, Smith said.
