A Pennsylvania woman has been charged with child abduction for allegedly luring a Woodstock boy into her car and taking him to Pennsylvania.
Lilandra L. Redman, 20, of the 600 block of Reno Street in Rochester, Pennsylvania, was charged with one count of child abduction, a Class 4 felony.
Redman is accused of intentionally luring Brandon J. Boring, 15, into her car without the permission of the boy’s parents, according to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County court.
Brandon’s mother said that she had last seen her son around 10:30 p.m. August 1 in his bedroom.
By the morning of August 2, Brandon was gone from the family’s home and he had left his belongings behind, his mother said.
The boy’s phone had been factory reset and left behind at home. He had written a note saying that he was going to meet a woman named Jessica in New York City.
The phone company reported that Brandon had been in contact with a number in Pennsylvania, according to his mother.
Police officers in Pennsylvania, in coordination with the Woodstock Police Department, were able to track down Brandon and find him safe on August 3. He has since been reunited with his family.
Woodstock Deputy Police Chief Jeffrey Parsons said that Brandon and Redman met on a social media platform.
Parsons declined to comment on any additional details, citing an active and ongoing investigation.
