A 26-year-old man experiencing a mental crisis was located by a Lake County sheriff’s canine unit after the man ran away from Good Shepherd Hospital near Barrington.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office asked the public for their assistance around 9:55 p.m. Friday in locating a 26-year-old man named Tyler who was missing and endangered.

Officials said that Tyler was last seen leaving Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, 450 Route 22 in unincorporated Barrington, and running eastbound from the area.

He was reportedly only wearing boxer shorts. Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Craig Somerville and his canine partner Diesel responded to assist with the search.
