A 63-year-old Gurnee man died after he was ejected from his motorcycle during a crash in Old Mill Creek Saturday evening.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Newport Township Fire Protection District responded around 8:05 p.m. Saturday to the area of Hunt Club Road and Millburn Road in Old Mill Creek for a vehicle crash.

Sheriff’s deputies found a 2014 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle that crashed on the west side of the roadway south of the roundabout.

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that a 63-year-old Gurnee man was driving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on Hunt Club Road south of Millburn Road.

For an unknown reason, the man drove off the roadway and was ejected from his motorcycle.

He sustained significant injuries after being ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene, Covelli said.

The Lake County Coronerโ€™s Office responded to the scene and an autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriffโ€™s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
