A missing and endangered 81-year-old Inverness man was located safe in Lake Bluff after being spotted in Lake and McHenry County area on Wednesday.
The Inverness Police Department took a report regarding Howard B. Hughes, 81, who was last seen leaving his residence around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
He was last heard from at 6 p.m. Tuesday and said that he was leaving the Marathon gas station, 2803 Sheridan Road in Zion.
The Illinois State Police activated an Endangered Missing Person Advisory for Hughes.
Hughes was driving a blue 2001 BMW 330ZI convertible and police said that he has a condition that places him in danger.
Hughes’ daughter said that her father made a purchase at a business near Route 31 and Route 176 in Crystal Lake at 2:51 a.m. Wednesday.
She said that her father later made a purchase in Highwood and Lake Bluff police located him in their town Wednesday afternoon.
“Thank you to everyone, people I don’t even know and have no idea how to thank, for praying, searching, calling, and texting,” his daughter said.
