The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents after a car drove past a woman walking her dog, turned around, and intentionally struck the woman near Harvard.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Sandra Rogers said that the incident occurred in the area of Streit Road and Lindwall Road in unincorporated Harvard.

A woman was walking her dog around 7:10 p.m. Wednesday when she observed a newer white car drive past her.

Rogers said that the woman noticed the white car turn back around towards her.

“It appeared to swerve towards where she was on the side of the roadway with her dog, striking her,” Rogers said.

The woman sustained minor injuries. Her dog was not injured.

The woman ran to a neighboring house to get help and the sheriff’s office was called. The vehicle left the scene after striking her.
