A McHenry man has been charged with drug-induced homicide in the heroin overdose death of a 32-year-old man in May.

The McHenry County Sheriffโ€™s Office Narcotics Task Force arrested Stanley J. Rzepka, 29, of McHenry, on Thursday.

The McHenry County Sheriffโ€™s Office was called on May 31 to a residence in the 2500 block of Birchwood Avenue in unincorporated McHenry for a death investigation of a 32-year-old man.

The scene was turned over to the McHenry County Sheriffโ€™s Police Narcotics Task Force.

A three-month investigation was launched where detectives worked closely with the McHenry County Stateโ€™s Attorneyโ€™s Office and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office to collect evidence, sheriff’s officials said.

During the investigation, detectives found evidence indicating that the man had used heroin prior to his death.
