One person was injured after a car struck a pole and then drove into a Mundelein house, leaving it uninhabitable Tuesday morning.

The Mundelein Police Department and Mundelein Fire Department responded around 2:21 a.m. Tuesday to the 500 block of East Maple Avenue for a report of a vehicle crash.

Mundelein Deputy Fire Chief Darren Brents said that firefighters arrived within four minutes and found a car into a house.

The passenger car had left the roadway and struck a utility pole before crashing into the single-family home.

Paramedics transported the driver of the vehicle to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of minor injuries, Brents said.
