Police are investigating after a man’s body was found near Corrine J. Rose Park in Waukegan Wednesday afternoon.

The Waukegan Police Department responded around 12 p.m. Wednesday to an area on the north side of Belvidere Road between Lewis Avenue and Keller Avenue for a death investigation.

Police located the body of an adult male in some brush, according to Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper.

The body was near Corrine J. Rose Park, which is formerly known as Belvidere Park.

Cooper said that the man’s body is estimated to have been there for approximately three to five days. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday.

The cause of death is unknown at this time, Cooper said, adding that authorities are working to identify the man.

The Waukegan Police Department has not released any information on the incident.
