A bomb threat was reported at Walmart in Antioch Monday evening and the store has been evacuated, police said.

The Antioch Police Department responded around 7 p.m. Monday to the Walmart, 475 East Route 173, for a report of a bomb threat.

The Antioch Police Department said in a Facebook post that officers are investigating the threat.

Police said that customers and employees in the building have been evacuated.

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that the Lake County Sheriff’s Office has sent an explosives detection canine unit to the scene to assist.

“We are asking the public to stay away from the area. More details will be posted as the investigation continues,” officials said in a statement.

Anyone with any information or those who have seen anything suspicious is asked to call the Antioch dispatch center at 847-270-9111.

Police continue to remain on the scene as of 9:30 p.m. No further details have been released.
