Police have charged two teens after at least 8-10 suspects robbed three victims at gunpoint and beat them Saturday morning in a Wauconda neighborhood.

The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Old Country Way in Wauconda, according to police.

Three male teens were sitting in a vehicle when they were boxed in by a white Jeep Cherokee and a black passenger vehicle.

Approximately 8-10 males exited the vehicles and began beating the victims and demanding their phones and wallets, according to Wauconda Police Department Public Information Officer Heather Cognac.

Two of the victims had guns pointed at them and the suspects stole several items from the victimโ€™s vehicle.

On Tuesday, officers and detectives of the Round Lake Beach Police Department located the stolen white Jeep Cherokee used in the armed robbery.

Several other police agencies arrived at the Round Lake Beach Police Department to question the suspects for crimes committed in their jurisdictions.

Wauconda police detectives determined these suspects were linked to the armed robbery as well as at least a dozen car burglaries that occurred recently in Wauconda.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with armed robbery, armed violence and mob action, and a 16-year-old boy was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, possession of a stolen vhicle, armed robbery, armed violence and mob action.

Charges are pending on the other juveniles involved, Cognac said.
