A 41-year-old Grayslake man was arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend and pointing a gun at her head last Thursday, police said.
Loyale S.J. Ivory, 41, of the 33500 block of North Oakland Drive in unincorporated Grayslake, was charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful restraint with a firearm, domestic battery and illegal possession of cannabis.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a call on September 19 for a woman who was the victim of domestic violence.
The victim told deputies that she was home on September 17 when her boyfriend, identified as Ivory, arrived.
Ivory accused the woman of having someone at the house while he was gone, according to Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli.
During the argument, Ivory brandished a semi-automatic pistol and pointed it at the victim, Covelli said.
Covelli said that Ivory allegedly put the gun within inches of the woman’s head and began shouting at her. He also physically battered the victim.
Sheriff’s deputies spotted Ivory driving his vehicle on Gages Lake Road east of Hunt Club Road in Gurnee a short time later.
They initiated a high-risk traffic stop and took Ivory into custody without incident, Covelli said. He was found to be in possession of a semi-automatic pistol.
Ivory was transported to the Lake County jail and held on a $50,000 bond. He posted $5,000 on Monday and was released.
Ivory is scheduled to appear in court on September 29.
