A Vernon Hills father was arrested last week and charged with sexually assaulting his daughter, who is under the age of 13, court documents show.
Gerrick J. Haynes, 40, of the 100 block of Windsor Drive in Vernon Hills, was charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Officers with the Vernon Hills Police Department arrested Haynes on Thursday.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Lake County court, Haynes committed an act of oral contact with his 12-year-old daughter between September 11 and September 24.
The complaint said that Haynes also sexually penetrated his daughter between September 1, 2019, and September 1, 2020.
Haynes appeared in bond court on Friday and Lake County Judge Paul Novak ordered the man held on a $500,000 bond.
As part of Haynes’ bond conditions, he was ordered to have no contact with any minor, not possess any firearms or dangerous weapons, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and have no contact with schools, daycares, or parks.
Haynes, who was appointed a public defender, remains held in the Lake County jail as of Wednesday. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on October 14.
The Vernon Hills Police Department has not released any information publicly on the incident.
