A Waukegan man was arrested and charged after authorities say he sexually assaulted his daughter, who is under the age of 13.

Norvin Edimar Lopez-Padilla, 35, of Waukegan, was charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

A criminal complaint filed in Lake County circuit court alleges Lopez-Padilla digitally penetrated his daughter at their home on September 27.

The Waukegan Police Department arrested Lopez-Padilla on September 28.

Lopez-Padilla appeared in bond court the following day in front of Lake County Judge Paul Novak.

Novak ordered Lopez-Padilla held in the Lake County jail on a $350,000 bond. He will need to post $35,000 in order to be released

As part of his bond conditions, Lopez-Padilla is not allowed to have any contact with the victim or her residence.

He is also not allowed to have any contact with daycares, parks, schools or any place where children under 18 are present, court records show.

Lopez-Padilla, who was appointed a public defender, will appear in court again on October 29 for a preliminary hearing.
