A 22-year-old man was charged after Round Lake Park police say he pointed a gun at another man during a confrontation over a previous road rage incident.
Misael H. Gomez, 22, of the 100 block of Dartmoor Drive in Round Lake Park, was charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and one count of aggravated assault using a deadly weapon.
The Round Lake Park Police Department responded around 5:09 p.m. Friday to the 100 block of Dartmoor Drive in Round Lake Park for a call of a man with a gun.
The victim told officers that he and Gomez got into a road rage incident several weeks prior.
Round Lake Park Police Chief George Filenko said the victim noticed Gomez driving and followed him to his home, where the victim confronted Gomez about their prior incident.
Gomez allegedly brandished a gun and aimed it at the other man, who then fled in his vehicle.
Round Lake Beach police officers located Gomez while he was getting a haircut in Round Lake Beach and took him into custody.
A loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun and two fully loaded extended magazines were recovered, Filenko said.
Gomez was released from the Lake County jail after posting 10% of his $30,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
