Deputies located a single-vehicle crash involving a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, the sheriff’s office said.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the Harley-Davidson had been traveling eastbound River Road when it failed to negotiate a curve in the road west of the intersection.

The motorcycle left the south side of the roadway, struck a fence and overturned in the 25000 block of River Road.

Authorities said the driver, a 29-year-old Belvidere man, was ejected from the motorcycle. The crash is believed to have occurred during the overnight hours from Saturday into Sunday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was not wearing a helmet, the sheriff’s office said.
