Jerome A. Murray, 35, of Waukegan.

A Waukegan man was arrested and charged with attempting to sexually abuse a teenage girl in Winthrop Harbor in April, court records show.

Jerome A. Murray, 35, of the 1800 block of Grand Avenue in Waukegan, was charged with two counts of attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 3 felony, and two counts of domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

A criminal complaint filed in Lake County court alleges that Murray placed his hands into the pants of a girl, who was between 13 and 16 years old, near her sex organ.

The complaint said that Murray also put his hands up the victim’s shirt, touched her lower waist and also touched her stomach.

The incident took place in April and the Winthrop Harbor Police Department investigated the incident and obtained an arrest warrant on October 9.
