Police are searching for a man and woman who robbed a liquor store at gunpoint late Thursday evening in Libertyville.
The Libertyville Police Department responded around 10:08 p.m. Thursday to Parkside Liquors, 723 North Milwaukee Avenue, for a report of an armed robbery that just occurred.
Libertyville Police Department Lt. Matt Goze said that two offenders exited a dark-colored four-door sedan and entered the business.
Once inside, the male offender removed a handgun from his bag, pointed it at the employee and took an unknown amount of cash from the register.
The second offender, a female, remained by the front door of the store. There was a driver in the vehicle waiting outside, Goze said, adding that the description of the driver is currently unknown.
The offenders exited the store and entered the passenger side of the dark-colored four-door sedan in the parking lot.
The vehicle pulled out and drove southbound Milwaukee Avenue and fled the area. No injuries were reported.
The first offender is described as a male Black in his mid-20s, approximately 5-foot-8 tall, with a heavy build.
He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, a dark-colored bandanna over his face, black pants with a white stripe down the legs, and black shoes.
The second offender was described as a female Black in her early 20s, approximately 5 feet tall with a thin build.
She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black zippered coat, medical-style face mask, black pants, and black shoes.
The incident is still under investigation and anyone who may have information is asked to call the Libertyville Police Department’s non-emergency number at 847-362-8310.
