A driver was hospitalized after authorities say a utility vehicle rolled over and he became pinned underneath it in Lake Forest on Tuesday.

The Lake Forest Police Department and Lake Forest Fire Department responded around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Sheridan Road and Ringwood Road for a report of a crash with injuries.

Lake Forest Deputy Fire Chief Michael Gallo told Lake and McHenry County Scanner the crash involved a utility terrain vehicle (UTV).

A man was driving the UTV when it overturned due to slick conditions, trapping the man’s legs underneath.

Firefighters arrived and found the victim alert and oriented but complaining of leg pain. Lake Forest firefighters along with Lake Bluff firefighters extricated the victim, Gallo said.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident and the man was the only person on the UTV.

Paramedics transported the man to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Lake Forest with non-life-threatening injuries.
