A Lindenhurst man who went missing was found dead Friday in Racine County, Wisconsin near where his vehicle had been located, police said.
Randal Moraga, 41, of Lindenhurst, was reported missing on Tuesday after not being heard from or seen, his family said.
The man’s maroon Chevrolet Silverado was found abandoned east of Wisconsin Route 20 and West Road in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin.
A search party consisting of friends, family and community members was scheduled for Friday morning.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department said that Moraga’s vehicle had been found crashed and it appeared the man left the vehicle on foot.
Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that the Lake County Sheriff’s Office was also investigating the man’s disappearance.
Moraga was located deceased approximately a quarter-mile from his vehicle Friday afternoon, Covelli said. The cause of death was not released and is pending an autopsy.
The case remains under investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police Department and Racine County Medical Examiner’s Office.
