A Round Lake Beach man who was wanted for sexually assaulting a young child was arrested earlier this month, police said.
Michael Rios, 37, of the 100 block of Glenwood Drive in Round Lake Beach, was charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony.
A criminal complaint filed in Lake County court alleges Rios committed an act of sexual contact with a child under the age of 13 in December 2019.
The incident was investigated by the Round Lake Beach Police Department and a judge signed an arrest warrant for Rios on November 25.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team executed the arrest warrant on December 1 and took Rios into custody at his residence in Round Lake Beach.
Rios was transported to the Lake County jail where he remains held on a $200,000 bond.
He will need to post $20,000 bail in order to be released. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Thursday.
Predatory criminal sexual assault of a child is a Class X felony and the man faces 6-60 years in prison if convicted.
