A 16-year-old boy was among two dead following a shooting that left two others injured Tuesday evening in Zion, police said.
The Zion Police Department and Zion Fire Rescue Department responded around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to the area of 28th Street and Galilee Avenue for a shooting.
Officers found one victim who had been shot and paramedics transported him to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, according to Zion Police Department Lt. Tony Velardi.

A 16-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were later pronounced dead at the hospital, Velardi said. A 28-year-old man remains in critical condition.
Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek said an autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday on the two deceased victims. Their identities will be released once their families have been notified.
The Lake County Major Crime Task Force was activated to assist the Zion Police Department detectives with the investigation, Velardi said.
No additional information has been released by police and it is unknown if any suspects are in custody.
