Two men were arrested in McHenry following an undercover sting to recover a dirt bike and motorcycle that they allegedly stole in Wonder Lake.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office received a burglary report for a stolen motorcycle and dirt bike from the 7700 block of Catalpa Lane in Wonder Lake on November 27.

Detectives learned on December 11 that one of the vehicles from the burglary was being sold from a residence in the 4300 block of Parkway Avenue in McHenry.

Detectives acting in an undercover capacity were able to positively identify the motorcycle as one of the items stolen in the burglary, the sheriff’s office said.

Kevin J. Loomis, 38, of Woodstock, and Gustavo A. Munoz, 44, of McHenry, were arrested during the sting in connection with the Wonder Lake theft. They were charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Brandy McMillan, 36, of McHenry, was also taken into custody at the same time for an unrelated arrest warrant for two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of firearm ammunition without a FOID and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The stolen property was also recovered during the sting. All three subjects were transported to the McHenry County jail.

Munoz also had outstanding arrest warrants for possession of firearm ammunition by a felon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Loomis and Munoz remain held in jail on a $50,000 bond each and McMillan has since been released after posting bail.
