Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a child who was abducted by his biological parents during a Christmas gathering at a Mundelein home on Friday.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced they are attempting to locate 8-year-old Enrique Sanchez.

Enrique was attending a family Christmas gathering held in the 26400 block of North Route 83 in unincorporated Mundelein on Friday.

Holly A. Adcox, 27, who is Enrique’s biological mother, does not have legal custody of the boy but was attending the family party, the sheriff’s office said.

Adcox took Enrique around 8 p.m. despite not having permission to take the boy, whose grandmother has held legal guardianship of him since he was a 1-year-old.

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said additional information was obtained on Saturday indicating Enrique’s biological father, Federico E. Sanchez, 30, and Adcox both planned on abducting and fleeing with Enrique.

It is believed the three of them are in a maroon 2002 Toyota Camry with Illinois registration BN21720. “It is believed the intention of Holly and Federico is to flee to another unknown state,” Covelli said.

There is no evidence to suggest Enrique is in imminent danger of death or bodily harm and so therefore the abduction does not meet the guidelines for an Amber Alert, Covelli said.

Enrique is 4-feet tall, 80 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Enrique, Adcox, or Sanchez is asked to call 911. Anyone else with other relevant information can call 847-377-4156.
