Three homes were struck but no one was injured after over 40 shots were fired during a shooting Thursday evening in Zion, police said.

The Zion Police Department responded around 11:45 p.m. Thursday to the 1900 block of Jethro Avenue.

911 dispatchers received multiple calls of shots fired in the area, according to Zion Police Department Lt. Anthony Velardi.

Officers responded and located three homes that had been struck by the gunfire. No injuries were reported.

Officers recovered over 40 spent casings during their investigation, Velardi said.

Velardi told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that detectives believe there was more than one shooter.
