An 18-year-old man was arrested after the sheriff’s office said he was clocked driving at 112 mph on Sheridan Road in Beach Park while high on drugs last week.

Jujuan W. Parham, 18, of the 700 block of Gardner Road in Westchester, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, aggravated speeding, driving while license suspended, illegal transportation of cannabis and driving without insurance.

A Lake County sheriff’s deputy was on patrol in the area of Sheridan Road and Beach Road in Beach Park on March 5.

Parham was traveling northbound and passed the deputy at an extremely high rate of speed. The deputy received a reading on his radar of 112 MPH.

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Lt. Christopher Covelli said the deputy initiated a traffic stop and the Parham showed signs of impairment.

The deputy conducted field sobriety tests and determined Parham was driving under the influence of drugs and also driving with a suspended driver’s license.

The deputy also located cannabis in the vehicle, which was being transported improperly, Covelli said. The man also did not have insurance for his vehicle.

Parham was arrested and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 5.
