A Crystal Lake man was arrested on Thursday and charged with sexually assaulting a child younger than 9 years old when he was 15 years old, police said.
Christopher P. St. Georges, 23, of the 500 block of Somerset Lane in Crystal Lake, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a child and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement they arrested St. Georges on Thursday after a warrant was issued on Monday.
The charges against the man come following a joint investigation with the Algonquin Police Department and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
St. Georges committed acts of sexual penetration on a victim under the age of 9 on at least two occasions in 2013, according to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County court.
St. Georges also committed acts of sexual conduct with the victim on at least two occasions that same year, the complaint said.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said St. Georges was 15 years old at the time of the assaults.
Sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate the case, which they said is ongoing.
A bond determination hearing was held on Friday and a judge ordered the man held on a $100,000 bond.
A bond hearing and setting of a preliminary hearing date are scheduled to take place on April 14, court records show.
