Christopher M. Rivera, 29, of Crystal Lake.

A Crystal Lake man who was found in possession of numerous videos of someone having sex with a child has been sentenced to four years in prison, prosecutors said.

Christopher M. Rivera, 29, of the 700 block of Concord Drive in Crystal Lake, was charged in July with ten counts of possession of child pornography, a Class 2 felony.

The Crystal Lake Police Department executed a residential search warrant at Rivera’s residence in July as part of an ongoing investigation at the time.

Police began investigating the man after receiving information from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, of which the Crystal Lake Police Department is a participating member.

The Crystal Lake Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit conducted the investigation, which led to a search warrant being issued.

Detectives arrested Rivera following a search of his residence that resulted in evidence recovered, according to Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Thomas Kotlowski.
